Special Treatment

New "sessions" of HBO's sleepy hit In Treatment are up and running, world!

I'm a long-time watcher/defender of HBO's less popular fare: Oz, Carnevale, Rome, Tell Me You Love Me, Mr. Show, Lucky Louie, The Life & Times of Tim... some critically acclaimed, some cultish at best...

The biggest problem with In Treatment—aside from being a little less than exciting a little too regularly—is that it eats up DVR space like a motherfucking demon. Short episodes but at five episodes a week, that's TWO AND A HALF HOURS of new programming every goddamn week.

I know I've made a church out of television and have committed my empty fucking life to staying on top of pop culture, but let's be reasonable.

I despise Jay Leno and think it displays an obscene lack of imagination/risk for NBC to put on a 10pm hour of some bullshit Jay Leno talkshow for 5 days a week—and I hope it succeeds as much as NBC's late-80s attempt to start primetime scripted programming at 7pm—but at least it means there's less chance for some new show I might feel obligated to watch.
