Racetrack Dreams

So, IBM's working on something they're calling "racetrack memory".

For the click-shy, the memory could theoretically hold 100x more memory than flash memory does today, at 100x less cost.

Imagine your 60 Gig iPod holding 6000 Gigs. And being able to run for weeks on one charge.

All theoretical, of course.

Don't expect nothing for a little bit, but sometime in the next 10 years, this could have some serious applications.
