NYS Unemployment at the End of a Benefits Year
Nature of the work I've been doing, I'm commonly on and off unemployment to varying lengths each year depending on the lengths of my gigs. I've been fortunate in recent years.
Of course, 2020 is the destroyer of all things.
Yesterday, I just hit the end of my unemployment benefits year here in New York State.
I happened to get some work last week, so I wasn't collecting benefits for the previous week, which is fine. Getting a few days of work and basically putting unemployment on pause for just a week hasn't been too much of a hassle.
Since my benefits year ended yesterday, I just filed a new claim this morning (as it said in the instructions). Hopefully it all goes through smoothly and I don't get too big of an interruption.
We're steeped in August and I still don't have a clear idea of when my job's going to resume, and I know a lot of people are in the same situation. (This gig was originally supposed to END around August and I had all these ideas of what I was going to do once I hit this break...)
Okay. Biden/Harris 2020. Wear a mask. Han shot first.

$500 a week. $2,000.00, monthly; matter of minimum-wage. ($15.00-25.00/hr).
One (1) should not have (required) to "applicate" processes such as these (this). "Insurance" and "Benefits" are stupid words. ("Assurance(s)."*)
