Wizard of Lies Start Date

Today, I started work on a movie that Barry Levinson is directing for HBO. It's the Bernie Madoff story, starring Robert De Niro as Robert De Niro.

Day one was all right. My first full gig apart from The Old Crew. (The Guns N' Roses of accounting crews.) It's different. I'm acclimating. Imagine Steven Adler got kicked out of GNR and became the new drummer for The Bangles. That's where I am right now. I'm Steven Popcorn Adler drumming on "Walk Like an Egyptian".

July 30, 2015. Start date on "Wizard of Lies". HBO. Cast & Crew.

Overdrawn

Every Nerdist Podcast:

A: You're successful!
B: Yeah, but YOU'RE *REALLY* SUCCESSFUL!!! HAHA!

This is difficult to stomach when you are barely scraping by, praying a direct deposit hits your account before checks get bouncy. This is something I feel less comfortable talking about than the heartache. The fear and anxiety of not making ends meet in any monthly cycle. Particularly that transition between jobs. This wasn't even a very long break between gigs.

It's okay. I'll make this work, I always do. Been on a bender for the past couple weeks, I'll just tighten the budget during August.

And September.

And October.

Joykill

It's a real pain not enjoying the things that I used to enjoy. I think it's connected to the writing problem. Nothing gives me joy. Nothing seems to cheer me up.

Forget cheering me up: I can hardly stomach some of the things I used to like.

I don't have the patience or the focus for it.

Trying to get back to the routine this week.

Requiem for a NYSC Location

Closing shots from the tiny New York Sports Club location I've been working out at before work since the beginning of December 2014. A sleepy, spartan location with little enough early-morning traffic to keep it comfortable. If you hit the hours just right, you get a lot of space to yourself. May not have the grandeur of the Wall Street locations I'm headed to on the next gig but I'll be honest, I'll miss it.

Se7en months is a looong gig.

The Knick Season 2 End Date

This job flew by really fast... and then seemed to go on forever.

These gigs have been steady day-job work for the past few years. Now it's a lot more uncertain what the future holds.

My next gig is lined up for the end of the month, with complete strangers. I've no idea how it'll go and no idea what happens beyond that.

July 10, 2015.

My end date on The Knick Season 2.
